Go the Distance

The first image in my Walt Disney Pictures series!

This photo is meant to be a sort of homage to the Go the Distance sequence (that was a link to the song).

The planning of this particular shoot took months,a nd it all started in the summer. I serisously wanted to use fog in the shoot so badly, but apparently there is no public outlets in Harmony park anymore (so my fog machine and extension cords are there for no reason).
The photography aspect of this is pretty hard for me. I usually shoot in Heritage park where it's more of a fairy tale setting. But for memorial day, they decided to close the park without warning. The lighting here was extremely bright (in a horrible way), the sun was hot and the backgrounds were limited for we were surrounded by houses.
For the lighting, I had to lower my aperture by 1/4, so the details are all pixelated more than ever. (I forgot to mention my camera is old, so it automatically 'whitens' everything). I had to maintain the perfect zoom and angle; the lighting changes drastically whenever I move.

Ryan Patterson stars as the teenage Hercules.
Costume by me (flipflops by Shawwny Eugene).
Makeup by Nicole Sanderson and Prince (I really don't know his last name).

Costume is a Victorian tablecloth, with a tie that is with the same designs embedded. The medallion is a foam poster painted gold (real gold) with golden glitter. The ionic Hercules thunderbolt and clouds are drawn upon it.
Sandals are provided by Shawnny. The makeup was to 'youngify' Ryan's face and enhance his muscle features.
